2005 Des Moines Home Show
Built by Wolf Construction, this home was on display during the 2005 Des Moines Home Show an annual contest/promotional event from all builders and construction trades. This is a chance for these builders to showcase their workmanship and design and all that good stuff. The home took second place overall which was a major success.
I was employed by Wolf Construction as the trim crew foreman and was basically in charge of overseeing all of this projects trim design and construction. It was an incredible effort for 8 men to tackle this home in 4 weeks time. But the final product is really quite nice.
Some of the highlights include the great room custom window treatment, the custom stair, rail, and newel system, built-in theatre cabinet system, entry door and window treatment, and many other beautiful works. I particularly handled all of the stair system project including the hand-carved newel post caps which I had a lot of fun working on.
