Bridge Building
Been up in Decorah now for a couple of weeks working for my friend Nick Rowley on his residence and new office space building. The first task at Nick's house was to forge some trails in the backyard timber which is full of cedar trees. It was a lot of downtime with the chainsaws but with help from friend Steve Gray we carved it up in about 4 days. Since the work didn't quite fill up the week we decided to spend the last couple days building a bridge that crosses over an eroded valley at the bottom of his property. We used lumber to build it from branches and logs that we had to prune. It was a lot of work but it is amazing what two guys and a four-wheeler can build in two days. Nick has five boys so I'm hoping they will enjoy this project for many years to come.
The following pictures document some of this work.
Nice Bridge!

Impressive engineering feat! I like how you only used what was available. Looks pretty sturdy too!
